Conclusion

We are all born with an innate ability to worship. While it may look different for every person on earth, the one thing common to us all is that our worship (that which ascribes worth to God) always comes as a response. We love because God first loved us. And so, like that beautiful mountain lake that makes us say "Wow!", we can't help but praise, but fall on our faces, but dance, but sing, but worship in response to God's goodness, mercy, power, and love.

As you worship, remember who it's really about. It's not about the music, the band, the leader, the sound system, the smoke or the lights. And it's most certainly not about you (although you play a very important role). And in the midst of your worship, be sure to listen to God's reponse (that IS about you). Let Him transform you through a holy conversation that leads you deeper and lifts Him higher.

You don't have to compare yourself to anyone; you don't have to mimic anyone's style; you don't even have to sing someone else's words. Just bring your heart to God and receive His heart as you do.

If you're a leader, remember to be yourself in worship. And remember that your team is more valuable than your music. Find ways to share life together. Find ways to honor each other and to create unity among you. Take time to worship together. Create a safe environment to explore and stretch yourselves and be vulnerable with each other.

And to everyone, remember your first love. May your worship be fruitful in your life and the lives of those you lead. May you be transformed in His presence. And as you declare His worth and receive His love in your heart, may you fall more and more in love every day with your most-beautiful, most-powerful, most-awesome heavenly Father.
